Our Methodology

The m.e. project strives to cultivate the relational conditions conducive to the development of greater clarity regarding one’s own life. We provide m.e.ntorship to young adults: a relationship of equals that seeks to supply clarity through exploratory conversations.

We employ an informal yet intentional approach that is conversational in style; it is individual in nature, but can also include group participation. We meet young adults for conversation at times and in places that are convenient for them via their preferred modes of communication: in-person, online, and by phone. We don’t push; we accommodate. We treat every person like they matter, because they do.

In each conversation, we listen intently and respectfully. By asking thoughtful questions we invite young adults to tell the truth about their lives as precisely as they can. We do so in order to help them attain greater clarity regarding their unique situations, experiences, aspirations, and concerns.

The m.e. project invites young adults to pursue their potential as individuals: to be themselves, focus on reality, think critically, make their own choices, and exercise their agency; and does so by encouraging authenticity, rationality, honesty, responsibility, courage, gratitude and benevolence.

Through our presence, attention, and care, we strive to cultivate connections conducive to the development of human potential.
